RIP Leslie Phillips

I though there should be a dedicated tribute page to the legend that was Leslie Phillips CBE! rest in peace and thank you for the years of comedy brillance

Yes, Ding Dong, certainly a man who deserves his own thread. Well, Hello 98 and what a life!

Rest in Peace my man.

Somehow thought he'd already gone.

RIP. Much loved and typical British gent/cad.

He was probably underused, usually playing more or less the same character - but my God he did it well. No one before or after can better his interpretation of that slightly bumbling, but rather suave, upper middle class, habitual womaniser.

An absolute screen gem.

Oh, I say

RIP Leslie.
Yes he was sort of typecast because he did it so well I suppose.

"Left hand down a bit" That was another.

Yes of course. I loved the Navy Lark when I was a kid. Loved the silly voices etc but then rediscovered the humour in later life.

Coincidentally they've got an episode of the Navy Lark on Radio 4 Extra now. It's part of collection of comedy programmes featuring armed forces.

I wonder if this was at his front door.
