British Comedy Guide

The Orville

Has anyone else seen this?
Not strictly a comedy despite it featuring Norm Macdonald and Seth Macfarlane of Family guy being the show runner
It's more a loving homage to Star Trek

Season 1 is a bit ropey but after that it gets into it's stride

A good watch for any Next Generation fans

Where is it available?

Disney I think

Seen the first two seasons and enjoyed it. Not quite enough jeopardy for me, but I like the mix of Next Generation style plots with slightly risque jokes.

I liked the episode when Bort gets addicted to porn. You'd never see that on Star Trek.

There's a new third season
Which is getting good reviews, give it a go if you can, I've been enjoying it so far

It's crap really isn't it. I'll never get to see it then.

Great.
Perfect for anyone who used to watch The Next Generation but who has grown bored with the more recent Star Treks.

The recent Treks are pretty decent.

They probably are.
I never got on with Discovery though and crashed out of the second season of Picard through sheer boredom. I wasn't the only one either.
This is a nice alternative anyway.

Discovery started well
But with all the hugging learning, teary eyes and wayward plots its gone downhill fast
Picard season one was ok, season 2 not so much, but it is fun to see the old characters
Fat Riker being my favourite
Strange new worlds has started strongly hope it can maintain that form

It's hard not to have a man crush on Captain Pike.

I like Lower Decks too. A bit too Rick and Morty at times, but it's grown on me.

Picard's always seemed more nostalgia fest than a proper show, although I sort of like that it's providing work for very old actors who don't look so great anymore.

I'd never heard of this series until I came across this thread but I've just watched Episode One and I like it. I post this cartoon as my tribute to the man who started it all.
