I was sure I'd seen a thread for this film.........................?
Whatever, anyway...................
So, I was griping about it not being in the "ULITIMATE" collection box set I bought, and people offering various reasons why it wasn't, I feel happier now having seen it, because I really don't think it is a Carry On film at all!
Only a smattering of minor CO actors, apart from one fairly regular in Jim Dale, and a script that is a million miles from CO fodder. Just a jumble of sub plots, that was trying too hard to be funny, thereby falling flat on its face, without a laugh. For example, from the Saucy Postcard I posted:-
Fatima: "You mean, the sharks won't eat me whole?"
Marco the Cereal (sic) Killer: "Oh, no! I'm told they spit that bit out first!"
And Julian Clary looking like his just wandered into the film set, from his stage act to utter bewilderingly some camp line about cocks and stiffness.
I die a happy man, knowing it is NOT a Carry On film, and I wasn't ripped off with my box-set
