Does anyone remember this chat show?

My friends and I have been talking and somebody mentioned a chat show with a twist in which the host (who was TV celebrity himself) didn't know who he'd be interviewing until the guest walked out on stage.
In one episode, the guest was Paul Whitehouse and, to everybody's (including Paul's) surprise, the interviewer didn't have the faintest idea who he was.
I've never seen the show and even those who have can't remember who the interviewer was. One person suggests he was 'somebody like' Clive Anderson or Richard Osman but that's as close as we can get.
Does anybody on BCG recognise this show from my description?
If so, please tell us the name of the interviewer.

Based on Paul Whitehouse's IMDB listings, I'm assuming you mean this oddity: https://adamnostalgia.wordpress.com/2021/10/02/more-tv-memories-richard-whiteley-unbriefed/

Might see if there are any clips on YouTube. I'm morbidly fascinated by the idea of watching Richard Whiteley interviewing the drummer from M People with no notes to work from.

That does sound amazing, to be fair. And Richard Whiteley is the perfect host for something like that.
I can't think of anyone well meaning but a bit clueless who could do it now. I guess maybe someone a bit like Jack Whitehall's dad, but not.

Thanks, Crindy. That is the show we were thinking about.
We're very grateful to you.
Have a super day.
