Ask A Policeman (1939)

Speaking as we were about the awful "Cardboard Cavalier" 1949, THIS is how it should have been done - that is, with comedy.
I expect a lot of us have the Will Hay box set (I know we have, when my son and I bought it for each other one Christmas!!), but this film, which I think is the best, was on TPTV last week, so it saved me digging the DVD out.

The three of them are absolutely superb - what a team! And Sooooooooooooooooo funny. ?
My son's favourite bit is by Harbottle's Dad, who Will says "Come on, we'll go and see Noah":-

When the tide runs low in the smugglers' cove,
And the 'eadless 'orseman rides above,
He drives along with his wild hallo,
And that's the time when the smugglers go in their little boats to the schooner and bring back the kegs of brandy and rum and put them all in the Devil's Cove below.
?

Marvellous,fantastic,brilliant,etc...
There's not been crime in this village for 10 years 5 weeks 4 days
And how long have you been sergeant?
10 years 5 weeks 4 days

Oh! Mr Porter and Where's that Fire ? Are just as marvellous,fantastic,brilliant,etc...

Watched this again on TPTV - what a classic! And so funny. Love it!!
