The new trailer for the English version of Call my Agent (Dix Pour Cent) is out.
It looks like it might be quite amusing, in a 2012, W1A sort of way.
Trouble is, I'm not sure I'll be able to get the original out of my head, though.
Ten Percent
I've not seen the Frogcom but didn't we already do a sitcom called The Ten Percenters? I question how hard producers are looking for new material outside their own world, the answer I always get is not hard enough. W1A, Episodes, Extras, Alan Partridge, this, plus plenty of sitcoms where the characters are writers, don't we have enough incestuous world of showbiz comedies where the creators can indulge themselves in their own playfully mocking love in? Has there ever been an environment more over represented in film and TV than film and TV?
The original was fabulous - this is just a knock-off.
It was tremendously stylish, too - in a very Parisian way.
This seems to be back to the bumbling English at work, with the odd rent-a-celeb thrown in.
I also think that in France, film stars are a little more recherché (!) more aloof than our lot, who happily perform on Graham Nortons sofa at the drop of a dog-biscuit.
To see really big names from French cinema, in a TV comedy, I think was quite a coup.

You're not wrong, there is a disproportionate amount of comedies based in a very narrow field.

Yep! The 10%ers began in 1993.
