1951................. Adverts are getting larger

Funny isn't it. I only remember Jean Simmons as an older actress but she was quite a beauty.

She was gorgeous, and was a very pretty Estella in David Lean's 1946 version of "Great Expectations"

1952..............

1943................. BRONCO toilet paper - like trying to wipe your arse with a bit of polythene!

And here's the other one, this time from 1953............ "SOFT?!? Bloody Soft? More like the complete opposite.

Just saw an ad for ecological face moisturiser: "Save your skin... And the planet.' That's priorites, right girls?

Never mind - back to the fray.....................1954

1955............and full colour, already. I don't remember Mayfair sweets though, which presumably came in a tin

1958............now, I do know these chocolates!

Have you run out of the glossy 70s & 80s adds which were such unPC fun, Herc? Time to go back over your stash of Mayfair and Rustler mags I think. 😊

Nor do I, but I remember the mags very fondly. Same company? Maybe they needed the chocs to keep their models interested?

If you'd been paying attention 😉, you would have noticed (and I think I did mentch it) that I am going back and forth through the years, so as to give peeps a bit of variety.
No problem on saucy ads, as I have literally hundreds of 1970s Playboy adverts and cartoons for example, apart from the British ones - it's 1959 tomorrow and then we get into the 60s with possibly leggy dolly birds. 😛😍

No I haven't really, as I've only had my new laptop a week and browsing was very fiddly on the mobile. Get the Rustlers out.

Get the Rustlers out.

Really - is that what you call your junk? I call mine Tom, Dick and Harry

And it's good to have you back in full command 😊

So here we go with 1959............. These were one of the trendy cigarettes to smoke in the 1960s, which I did and had a tin packet exactly the same size/shape/print etc to keep mine in - I wish I still had it, as it would be quite collectable now.

1960............... Osram were very big in lighting in my day, both domestic and photographic (1/8d = one shilling and eightpence = c. 8p)
