Ah, now I understand why a certain person writes long-winded captions in modified un-funny seaside cards.
S/he must have been born & raised in the era of these Kellogg's & BSA adverts.

Yes, that does seem an odd thing to advertise, but I see it's not a company, but an association presumably promoting its use post war, and that's the sort of thing I find interesting in early advertising - gives you a flavour of what was trending then.

They are a good read.They give the impression of being more informative than modern ads.Whether they are is another thing.

**EDIT The radio is 18 GNS (guineas) a guinea is 21 shillings (£1-1 shilling), so the price is £18-18 shillings, which equals £18.90, £532 in today's money!! That's a lot of money for a basic radio, 4 pre-set stations or not! I don't think we realise today how, basically, technology is very cheap.
Selling something in guineas always looks to be something of a con, and the only people who still use it today is, I believe people in the horse racing fraternity.
