Once again, I find myself having to point out that this is a picture with a caption and NOT a cartoon, per se and therefore should be on the Funny Pictures thread - that is what it's there for, otherwise, what is the point of that thread?

Or are you being deliberately confrontational?

The iconic Leonardo da Vinci Cartoon (c.1500) depicts the baby Jesus with his mother Mary, his grandmother Saint Anne and his toddler cousin John the Baptist-to-be.

It's a brilliant work of art but, with great respect to the genius Leonardo. I'm not sure what the joke is supposed to be so I've jollied it up (a bit).

Wasn't there a Pete and Dud sketch about that?

In Leonardo's days I don't think "cartoon" meant "funny" as it does today, any sketch was a cartoon.
