Dad and Dave

Just found this from Australia in 1937. Quite a revelation - I can hear in it all sorts of things that came in a much more sophisticated way about 20 years later - including Hancock, Bill Kerr, a couple of Kenneth Williams's funny voices, The Glums and Steptoe and Son. Does anyone know if there are any obvious links to those programmes in terms of any influence it might have had?

The one does sound like Dick Bentley from the Glums but it's not him according to Wiki.

This is the author.Perhaps someone in the UK read his books?
