Just wanted to get in first, in case someone thought I'd copied it from elsewhere. Do you think I stand a chance with a job at the Sun then? If I did get one there, do you think they'd let me be a Page 3 inspector?

You're of that age. Page 3 isn't what it used to be I'm afraid.
So how can Griezeman play number 10 role when he's number 7?
I notice France and Germany didn't "take the knee", and I think there's other countries showing a bit of sense too. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - the point has been made, now let's move on. The booing is not because those fans are racist, it's because they are fed up of this futile American gesture.

It's only the Brits doing it and that's with pressure on the Jocks.

We love bashing ourselves over the head and showing the world what wonderful fair people we are. We'll take the blame for anything if it shows the world how sanctimonious we are.
Quote: Hercules Grytpype Thynne @ 14th June 2021, 10:37 AMIt doesn't show in this vid., but Gazza points to the spot where he wants the ball - talk about sharp mind. He knew in that split second what he was going to do - Effin' genius.
He also points to where the Water bottles are after he scores so they can do the preplanned celebration
Double Genius
And Gazza is my Birthday Buddy although he's a few years older,
Young Lee Sharpe also shares my birthday and my age and my nickname come to that
But (some of) our players have become so prickly and taken over by (left wing) gesture and posture politics that if Southgate was to say No more, they'd sulk and put in rubbish performances. Rashford in particular needs to pull his head out his arse and remember what he's highly paid for.
It may take a maverick like Grealish to stay standing and his popularity with the fans make them see this trendy charade is now f**king irritating. You're footballers!
Well I hope the point has been made already and racism has been solved
But if people want to criticize the players for taking the knee or not, then perhaps the discussion that emerges at least keeps a reminder going about why people have felt the need to do it at all.
Personally I can't stand politics being forced down my throat for that important section of the match where I'm not actually watching because the game hasn't started yet
I used to do most of my Anti racism and tolerance campaigning by calling (NAME REDACTED) of Chelsea a C**t every time he came on, but we all have our own ways of supporting equality

You've decided.
Not everyone's as rabidly anti-American as you.
And, anyway, the fans aren't booing - the majority are clapping.
And that's what matters in a democracy - as I'm being constantly reminded.
And Scotland, we are told, will take the knee at Wembley.
Oh, and well done Ronaldo.
Not for the goals, of course.
But for kicking those Coke bottles into touch.
"Agua!"
Quote: Steve Sunshine @ 16th June 2021, 12:30 AMWell I hope the point has been made already and racism has been solved
Yep.
Just checked, and it's all gone.
Quote: Lazzard @ 16th June 2021, 9:59 AMYou've decided.

Yup, and I'll come back to you on this when we/they suddenly realise they are alone in their futile gesture.
"rabidly anti-American"? I have lived and worked with Americans for many years, and now you say that just because I point out, yet again "us" following like a load of sheep what the Yanks say, because we haven't got a clue or original idea of how to deal with the situation. Baaaa!
As ever, you've missed the point.
Your reason for hating people taking the knee may well be because of your obsession with US influence over here.
Pretty sure that's not why those minority of fans are boo-ing.
I have no wish to pursue this any further with you, because "As ever" you take some "facts" that are in your head and apply them to an argument.
I do not hate Americans, as I've stated so many times - for me it is the bad influence of Americanisms that creep into our language (what's wrong with that?!?), and how we follow them like a flock of sheep. And, how they think that it is their language, and find it oh so funny when we Brits pronounce certain words, when they equally have many anomalies in their so-called American English. It is little wonder that most of my friends in the 60s, 70s and 80s were black as they didn't have any hang ups.
I'll say again - why do we have to copy them. Why don't we deal with it in our own way? There is very high-quality surveillance equipment now - seek the racists out and ban them for life!
You maybe "pretty sure", but I still maintain that those people want to see, and have paid to see a football match NOT a political statement.
It's politics they are booing, not racism.
If they all brought out a banner saying kick racism out of football, everybody would clap.
They've backed themselves into a corner and don't know how to get out of it.
The message is lost now anyway and has probably caused more division than it healed.
Fans want football not a political statement - and that's what it is.

Despite the FA and the England Coach repeatedly saying it isn't.
And the fact that the majority 'clap' their agreement.
If the minority wish to boo - they can.
It's a free country.
And vice versa
