Dear, oh dear, oh dear. Only watched this because Terry-Thomas was in it, but it was bloody awful.
This is the BFI synopsis :-
"Crazy comedy crime burlesque, set in a London night club and interspersed with song. It shows how an asinine detective, by luck, busts up a house-breaking racket."
If it wasn't for the fact he was so recognisable, you would wonder if this was the same comic actor, but given a crap script and dire scenarios, I don't suppose you could blame him.
Thank heavens it was shortish, as I did watch it to the bitter end just to see how rubbish it could get, and it did, so no disappointment there. The very last scene was what you would expect from some school production.
The only other face I knew in it was Michael Balfour, trying to perfect his American accent, which I understand he did to hope someone in a Hollywood studio would show interest. They didn't and I'm not surprised - he was much better as a British small time iffy crook/barman/heavy, appearing in many films and TV.
