Now, why do I find the last one funny, but the on before not at all?

I suggest the one before is a very stretched idea, under developed areas is too vague and just made up to fit

Whereas Aspidistra is a funny word - and the offended woman's posture.

Yes, I bought it on Felixstowe pier, before there was even one there, and the town was two cottages, three sheep, four deckchairs and a whelk stall.
