Currently looking at the surviving episodes from by box set of The Army Game, which I am thoroughly enjoying; BUT there are none as far as I know of the original cast that included Bernard Bresslaw.
So, saw this film, based on the TV series which had him in and with the title taken from his catchphrase in that ITV series (their first sitcom success by the way). BUT oh dear, oh dear, oh dear - this was dire and a total waste of comedic talent.
I was hoping/thought it would be a film set in the original army camp of Nether Hopping, but no, it ships them off to the Middle East in a shambles of a story with poor sets etc. etc. and RSM William Hartnell replaced by David Lodge for some reason, otherwise the squad was all there from the TV series.
And there was me thinking he (Bresslaw) hadn't even said his catchphrase, but there it was as the last thing like Looney Tunes "That's all Folks!" as the film ended.
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH
