Another Shore (1948)

I managed to watch half of this, then could take it no more - it was so painfully slow and what comedy?

Set in Dublin, Canadian Robert Beatty manages a weak Irish accent as a wastrel who dreams of living in the South Seas, and as he has no money through not working, hopes he can find a benefactor to lend him the £200 to fulfil his dream; but I couldn't wait or care any longer to see if he made it.

Moira Lister, Stanley Holloway and Michael Medwin supported, along with very minor part for the likes of Wilfrid Brambell, Bill Shine (who is now becoming more noticeable to me lately - thin, pointy face with tash) and tiny Edie Martin in a very brief uncredited part.

Yeah, it's much more light drama with some comic relief, really. A couple of nice bits with Stanley Holloway, but it's mostly a piece for yesteryear charm.
