Old Bill And Son (1941)

"A Barrage of Laughs!" screams the tagline on the poster........really? I can't see this being that funny even when it was released.

A film based on the WWI Bruce Bairnsfather's cartoon character of Old Bill, a sweat from the First World War - now some of those cartoons are funny, but sadly not this film

It seems John Mills, the son in this, was apparently quite dismissive of this film in his autobiography, and who can blame him. As some of you will know, I am a big fan of John Mills, but for me this has to be the only film he didn't shine in, and that wasn't his fault.
