I didn't catch it last night Dan but will definitely listen next Wednesday.

It's available on Listen Again for 7 days after transmission: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/wednesday/
(Scroll down to 11pm)

No pressure ;)

(Might as well try and get the listening figures up so they commission another series!)

Dan

Some good ones in there Dan. But I want to hear you. I have a BSG loyalty card.(And Nectar)

Oh, it's all about *me* isn't it?

Me, me, me -- that's all I ever hear! It's getting a bit boring now...

Dan

Well as Dan said based on how it seems (about being broadcast the same order it was recorded) then episode 4 will be a BSG fest (well both of ours).

But that being said some of the laughter was ours as well ;)

Well done guys, I will try and catch it, if I remember - perhaps you could remind us again nearer the time.

Every week! Like clockwork.

Yes I like clockwork.. thanks!

Looking forward to hearing it on listen again.. in due course!!

Was it a funny show, how did you rate the show (forget that BSG folk are in it for a mo.. if you can)

Good show?

I thought some of it was quite hit and miss. It's obvious that it's 'new' ideas when you listen which I didn't pick up on at the recording, and some of it is very clever (and some of it is trying to be way *too* clever).

The Time Nazi recurring sketches are very clever and funny and worth listening to (especially as the guy hams it up and was a brilliant comedy actor throughout the recording).

Worth a listen to admire the new concepts but IMO some of them didn't quite come off. Kudos for trying though, as even if they didn't the ideas were worth a go, I thought.

Dan

I caught this in the week, and I agree about the hit and miss thing but two or three of the sketches were really good. As a writer though, it frustrates me immensely when an opportunity to write for a show like this comes up (let's be honest - open door stuff doesn't happen often anymore) and then you don't take advantage of it.

I think a fair number of us did submit entries... I also understand that quite a large proportion of the successful scripts were actually written by the performers themselves, which I think for sketches is quite usual?

Laughing out loud

Sorry, that came across all wrong. I was trying to say that I didn't take advantage of opportunity and I hate that feeling that when you submit a sketch to an open door show, and you straight away feel you might have been better off sending a different sketch or changing the punchline, etc, but by then it's too late to do something about it.

I wasn't saying 'you' as in a teacher figure scalding the group with a wagging finger Laughing out loud

Just imagine that I'm a Geordie in future...

Don't forget -- episode 2 is on tonight. Don't expect our sketches, but you never know!

:O is the forum allowing Geordies in now?

;)

I sent a sketch and they didn't choose it and of course (as you say) I was wishing I had sent a different sketch.. but hey ho.. their loss!!! :P

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Thats a high pitched squeal... because my sketch was on tonights show.

It closed the episode, and my name was on the credits.

:D That isn't even close to how big my grin is.

It was about Book Covers ;)

Well done on that front, there is no better feeling on this earth (for a writer at least) than hearing your name in the credits at the end of a show, I'm sad enough to have recorded every single credit mention I've had, just to play back for occasional ego boosts.

I loved the returning 'Grimly' sketch as well.
