Yeah, Kristel Help
However you won't be able to edit it in the same way if you save it as a mp3 and the 'export mixdown' is designed to give you an end product e.g. a single audio file
Cool edit is great. I have used older versions of logic before it went to mac only
Thanks AJP
AJP or anybody else.
Have sussed that bit but my Wav files look as if they might be huge as a quick 6 second experiment cloks in at 1.2mb. Is there a way to compress the size of these for uploading to sites etc or do these sites have some kind of compression software?
I'm a wally when it comes to the technical issues of computers

Blen, you can only edit in wav format but you can export the finished audio in any format you want. Just select mp3 as the file type to save in
One more question that I can't seem to find the answer for in help files.
If I want to import another audio file, say a sound effect in mp3 can this be done? I can find out how to select it but I can't copy or cut and paste it into my current project.
I appreciate that it's a different format but the import dialog box tells me that wav files are supported and i was hoping that if imported I could use it as a backgroung atmosphere
I once used Audacity and I'm sure that this was possible but I think that Kristal looks so much better in other ways and I'd like to use that as my recorder and editor.
Also Audacity seemed to require a bolt on to save completed projects in simple audio files
I don't think you can import in mp3, you'll have to convert the file to wav then import it. Programs like itunes can do it for you
