The Big Money

Oh dear, another alleged comedy, but apart from the fight scene at the end it lacked any humour. Apparently (IMDb) the star, Ian Carmichael, hated it and regretted appearing in same, wishing that Rank had destroyed all print copies and you can see why. There was rumour that Norman Wisdom might have got the part and he may have saved it.

And yet ANOTHER film where the leading lady/beauty Belinda Lee is killed in a car crash two years later. How sad, again.

Just got round to watching it. As you say...

Interesting to see, though, that Ian Carmichael's younger brother was played by 12 year old Peter Asher, brother of Jane and later, of course, to become one half of Peter & Gordon of World without Love fame.

A touch of nostalgia too to see the pre-2005 Ascot grandstand and paddock again.
