Sacha Baron Cohen is a big name in the world of comedy and has been so for many years now.
His legendary performances as Ali G, Borat and other characters have endeared him to comedy fans all over the world.
Given that he's had such spectacular success portraying people other than himself, it's not altogether surprising to find that there's a "serious" actor - and a very good one - lurking inside this multi-faceted comedian.
Netflix's new series, The Spy, written and directed by Gideon Raff (co-creator of Homeland and pictured with SBC above) is the story of Eli Cohen, an accountant in a supermarket who after being recruited by Mossad, became perhaps the greatest spy of the 20th century and infiltrated the highest levels of the Syrian government.
It's a very good series and SBC is very good in the lead role.
My only disappointment is that, when visited by the Syrian security services, he doesn't ask "Is it cos I is spying?"
But seriously though folks, it's a great story, well told and very well worth a watch!
