Fiddlers Three (1944)

(While Nero Fiddled - Yank title)

(TPTV film) DIRE! But maybe I'm being a bit harsh because I have never seen anything funny in Tommy Trinder and am at a loss to understand why he was so popular post war, especially during the 50s and 60s.

James Robertson Justice looking like a twat dressed up as a Roman Centurion with no attempt to change his voice, Kay Kendall uncredited girl and Danny Green (The Ladykillers etc) as Lictor (I wonder if his name was a pre Carry On one because..................nah, not in 1944)

I think we were grateful for any sort of "entertainment" after the war. He was always banging about Fulham if I recall and that was supposed to be amusing.
J R Justice, apparently, was very dismissive of Ray Galton's proud Scottish family name. Called them "tinkers" or something similar. According to Alan Simpson.
