JoJo Rabbit

Not strictly a British comedy film - more colonial, really...
But, personally, I can't wait.

It's a beautifully-written, very funny script and a beautifully-produced film and a lot of people are going to love it. However, I suspect a great many others all over the world are going to take a dim view.

In historical and psychological terms, sometimes 80 or 90 years ago can seem pretty much like 'last week'.

I think we might be in for a bit of controversy.

That looks great. Shades of Allo Allo.

Is it on Fox only though?

General release, I think.
And I'm hoping more "Springtime for Hitler" than "Allo Allo"!

It does seem to have a Mel Brooks farcical parody feel to it. Looks great.

I'm afraid you're hoping in vain, Laz.

It's truly a comedy-drama: the comedy is very funny, the drama hard-hitting.

And, believe me, when it hits you - you'll know you've been hit.

High hopes for this. Taiki Waititi has a great pedigree when it comes to comedy and this looks a lot of fun.

Good, I'm all for that.

Oh, and how come you got to see it?
It's not released until Oct 18th - and that's in America.
Us mere UK-based mortals don't get it till next year.
In fact it's not even played at festivals yet...

He's psychic.

Sorry, I missed the question.

The answer is that I have friends in low places.

In any event, I think JoJo Rabbit is going to set the cinema-going world alight.

However good you think it might be, it's better!

That was a very weird answer.

The reviews are out, bit of polarity going on. The Guardian was offended 2/5 (as was Germany) but others love it.

The Grauniad have no sense of humour. Unless it's completely PC.

Ironically, if anything, The Guardian didn't think it was extreme or offensive enough. This is a quote from their review:

"It's oddly safe, given the subject matter, and the humour is similarly sanitised."

Good point chip, I retract the word "offended", but I stand resolute by all the other words. Being dyslexic I fear the Grauniad, it's like they're mocking me.
