Good connection. I can't draw cartoons, I'm afraid. Just moody monster faces. Lots of teeth and angry eyebrows etc.
I'll do another one to break the silence. Here's the first clue...

1. Seasonal meadow

Snake's head fritillary?

Snake's head fritillary?

No...what even IS that! I really feel I've been living down a hole all my life, spending time in here with you lot.

Okay...I can't go very deep with my clues...so, hopefully, it should start to become very clear...very soon...

1. Seasonal meadow
2. Coy princess

Don't think too hard...I didn't. :-/

No so rare now as it is protected but limited areas where it grows - what was a common meadow flower. There is a meadow not far from where I live that has these and they are a delight to see when in flower - it is now a tourist attraction.

If your connection is anything to do with Disney type little girl's ice princesses and that ilk, I am lost.

Is 3. Eerie ? I.e its about Prince Charles ?

Quote: Hercules Grytpype Thynne @ 5th May 2019, 11:07 AM

Nope, not Disney stuff.

Not the third clue, no...and no to your answer too.

1. Seasonal meadow
2. Coy princess
3. Nicholson's boy

If No. 3 is referring to The Shining, then that is Danny and I claim my £50 prize. :)

Nope. But you're thinking of the right Nicholson. Think more about the words as leading to other words...and say them to yourself...

1. Seasonal meadow
2. Coy princess
3. Nicholson's boy
4. Prince's chunk of ice

This is, without doubt, the cleverest puzzle I've ever seen on BCG.

Indeed, it's one of the cleverest puzzles I've ever seen anywhere.

After considerable thought, I finally saw the connection: it's American state capitals.

Yes, that's right.

1. Seasonal meadow = spring field = Springfield, state capital of Illinois.
2. Coy princess = shy Anne = Cheyenne, state capital of Wyoming.
3. Nicholson's boy = Jack's son = Jackson, state capital of Mississippi.
4. Prince's chunk of ice = Harry's berg = Harrisburg, state capital of Pennsylvania.

Really? :S

Apart from yours obviously, Herc.

I thought that went without saying.

Aw shucks, :$ but I didn't mean that so much as I'm not sure about puns. I want them to work, but does the last one? Still pondering if I could use it on OC..................................

That is pretty f**king amazing. For those unbelievably fiendish clues to be thrown out there and for you to decipher it is nothing short of a miracle. I'm having a pot noodle to commemorate the occasion.

"Seasonal meadow" sounds like a place. The other clues could be anything.
