Sad news and I listened to their album a lot in the 90s when ecstasy was on the menu. It was a time when I transitioned from liking middle of the road music like Wet Wet Wet and Leo Sayer to electronic dance and I have Prodigy to thank for getting me in to rave and jungle. Actually not sure if I should be thankful for that or not 
Break And Enter was my favourite track.

Apparently (on the local news) he had a sort of swear box behind the bar in his pub and every time somebody burst into song when he put a log on the fire in the bar they had to pay a pound.
He went through a radical change on the advice of his Nan the MP Caroline Flint and ultimately it proved very successful but some of us still have very fond memories of when he was simply good old Bernie:
