Better Things

I've just watched the pilot episode of this US sitcom and I have to say it shows great promise.

It started out as a joint venture between Louis CK and Pamela Adlon but, as we all know, Louis fell foul of the snowflake culture and was sacked for doing a few things that were perfectly acceptable a few years ago but which have fallen from favour in recent times.

Never mind, there are a good many episodes already in the can and the show is carrying on without Louis.

Pamela Adlon plays Sam Fox (not the one who used to get her Bristols out on page 3) a struggling actor and mother of three daughters.

It's slick, funny, fast-moving and adult in a real and non-gratuitous way.

Well worth a watch, I'd say.

I watched a bit of this a while ago and it was pretty good, I'll probably watch the series now the BBC are showing it.

Between this and Atlanta last year it's nice to get some decent American stuff shown over here for once

Fast moving? I gave it five minutes and gave up.

Glad Atlanta's back. Hope we get season two of Better Things soon too.

Blimey! The Beeb must read these boards and pay attention as it's back tonight on BBC2 at 10pm.

Season three starts tonight at 10pm, BBC2.

Loved the first two series - some of the best writing and acting around.
