British Comedy Quiz Page 46

Got 9/2. Just reminded myself to finish off my next general quiz but I've been held up a bit by Mark's directive on showing references. Takes a bit of time getting to the British library every time I think of a question. Soon get there...

9 out of 2, you weird person? Well done though (Ithink)

And get on with it, you big girl's blouse, with yer references - on Only Connect we used to have to do two

Okay, as long as the trains are running. Now the nearest underground again is er...oh yes. Ah 9/10 & 2/5 I meant.

Quiz 261, I got 9/10 (!) and 2/5. A few I knew, some were lucky or educated guesses.
Correct: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11, 15.
I like question 11 about Roger Mellie! I had a Roger Mellie T-shirt when I was a teenager, which featured the word that's the answer to that question...

Nicely surprised by my 7/10 & 4/5 as it was quite a modern day selection of Qs, at least compared to mine. Have just compiled a new quiz and the the most recent date of a show or film is 1971. Herc should do well...

Well, I knew numbers 2, 4, 7 & 10.

I got 5 & 6 with help from the options given but wouldn't have known otherwise.

Quiz 261

4/10 and 4/5 - Most NOT my era at all!! Question 13, for example I'd never heard of any of them, let alone know who wears a body warmer (gilet indeed - Eww, swipe me)

After this week's debacle, I look forward to it Alf 😁

Quite pleased with my 9/10 and 3/5 there, with 8, 13 & 15 being the ones I got wrong.

Good to see some questions on a few areas of comedy that wouldn't be in my head when I'm thinking of my own possible quiz questions too.

Crikey, don't go too obscure - I can follow most of your questions.

Blimey, that was a mixed bag of questions.

I scored 5 out of 10 today, nearly all of my answers were guesss.

I correctly answered: Q3, Q5, Q7, Q9, Q10.
I incorrectly answered: Q1, Q2, Q4, Q6, Q8.

Did anyone get this one?

I didn't, and I must admit even after googling each one I still didn't recognise any of 'em! Still, to be fair, a lot of British comedy is about the live shows/stand-up 'scene', not necessarily people who've been on the telly.

True, true, and I could quite easily set really obscure questions, but don't think that would make for an interesting quiz and alienate some of the regular quizzers.

I know none of those names.

Exactly, and so far, (you're not alone Chris) not one person has any idea who they are - it's certainly not a question I would have set. I like to feel, most people will have an inkling of what I'm talking abart! Even if they cannot recall it/they/them at the time of entering their answers.

I regularly watch The Stand Up Sketch show, and there are comedians on that I have never seen before, and usually never see again, and wouldn't dream of setting question on those no hopers.
