I think it's about getting past the taboo of COMPLETING a novel, which many would see as a huge achievement in itself. For me it's completing it and seeing where I can take it from there. It's certainly getting much more material out of my head than normal..

I'm just having a break from my entry!

Considering I scrapped it and started again on Saturday I feel I'm doing well. 3,600 odd words whichis slightly more than the daily average for 2 days.

I'm really pleased with the way it's going.A best seller in progress.

Hurrah!
I haven't actually written anything today, but I have worked out a few important bits of the plot, which were gaping holes but yesterday.

finding it difficult, i don't normally write like this.

My longest piece of work before this was about 9500 words and that took me four years.

So i feel i'm doing well really. My characters are beginning to talk to me. And i reread my prologue today and it scared the bejesus out of me, which is good for a horror/thriller book me thinks!

Hope your all doing well.

I don't think I've ever tried to write anything scary before. That's another thing Nano is good for, trying something you've never tried before. Might chuck a crap attempt at a scary bit in.

Mines plodding along quite "nicely" thanks. I don't know where it's going butmaybe it needs something to spice it up or a massive disaster or something.

It is the first time I've tried to do something so disciplined so please forgive if it is a bit too twee.

I'm about a day behind schedule. My bloomin wife had to go and have a birthday. How bloody inconsiderate.

Plots just about fully done, going to try and get ahead of schedule this week. "Beer and Life on Mars" not really helping my concentration.

Plot? I haven't thought about a plot.

Still I'm averaging about 2,000 words a day. Sickening eh?

I've forgotten how to update my word count though.

Oh for god's sake.
You need a babysitter!

I'm doing rubbish by the way. Wave
I'll just have to catch up on my week off work.

You volunteering?

I think my nappy needs changing.

As long as you're not hungry.
We're sticking to milk from the bottle, next time.

Who was it that said that one must continue writing a project, no matter what the merit, in order to improve...Oh, it was Ed Wood, ignore me.

Right, where's my angora cardi...

Right - I've updated it. I forgot how I did it before.

Anyway - I'll be off and running in a minute. Distracted by Chelsea though. Maybe I can incorporate the whole match in it.

What happens if I complete my novel, and it's not the target 50K words?

I know that I will go through and re-write at a later date to get the 2nd draft, and that will probably take me over the 50K count.

Does that mean I fail to write the novel? Lots of books are less than 50K words!!!!
