New Podcast Series (It's Back)

It's been a while but I've finally got round to finishing and uploading the first episode of my new podcast series titled It's The End Of The World (As We Know It).

I know my first podcast series As Soon As Plausible got some pretty positive comments on here before so I'd thought I'd see what you all think of the new series.

You can listen at:

Cheers.

No comments yet but I'd just like to post this feedback that I got from TV's Emma Kennedy! on Myspace :)

Hello Martin
I enjoyed listening to your podcast and think it shows a lot of promise. I think it's been very well put together so if that was you all on your own then you've done an excellent job. I really liked the section with the Queen and the sword - that was very funny. Some of the set pieces were over long - edible dvd for example - you should aim for each sketch to be no longer than 3 minutes - and to give it texture - throw in short under a minute sketches. Performance wise I think you came across as confident and capable. Vocally I think you could think about trying a wider range - some of your voices were a little similar.
Overall I was very impressed. Do a few more and then edit together a best of and send it to some producers at radio 4.

Really appreciated her taking time out to listen and she was very positive. I'm going to work on making my sketches shorter in the future.

Did try to listen last night, but it wouldnt play. And thats great, having someone in her position giving you feedback, did you purposefully seek out her judgement, or did she just send you feedback anyway?

I seeked out various comedians to comment and Emma was the first to get back.

And yeah there was some problems with it last night, I did delete it and upload it again so it should work fine now.

Can't disagree with Emma's feedback. For me there were excellent parts (replacing family photos section with Wally was my favourite) but I thought some of the music bits were too long and broke up the mood for me. Edible DVD was a good idea too.

Well constructed.

Well done on the feedback mate. I'll give it a listen later, I'm sure you could do with some experienced feedback, oh wait...

Thanks guys, I'll take on board all the criticism.

Well done Martin, I'll give it a listen.

Yeah, I think SlagA and Emma sum it up. There were some good bits (basically your stuff) but the music etc was probably not needed or too long. I know its a challenge to get a full show together but maybe make it shorter without the long music bits? I also agree with Emma about the voices which I would struggle to do as well.

It seems you have to be a writer, impressionist, actor and techy to make these things work instead of just a writer - so well done, you've got most of them!

cool- will have a listen to yours if you listen to my first effort!! www.myspace.com/midgetgemscomedy or http://www.twango.com/media/midgetgems.public/midgetgems.10002

Have asked you to be my friendy-wendy too

My old podcast series As Soon As Plausible never had music on it but I thought I'd have a bit of a change this time around and add a bit of music just to spice things up. I may just put one song on it in future though.

very entertaining so far ...

Maybe shorter interludes. You must be doing something right if we are picking on the music! :)

I've just had a listen Martin. Very good, but like has been said above, probably best with less music - we can get music from other sources but not your comedy.

Also, sorry to say, your Simon Cowell does sound a bit like you ;) :P :$

Ha yes the Simon Cowell was awful, although I must say I was quite impressed with my Sharon Osbourne even if I do say so myself. :)
