Photobucket

As some of you may know the blackmail that Photof**ket has launched is affecting earlier Punch cartoons I published (up to Page 29), but then from Page 30 onwards thank heavens I went over to Tinypic - dunno why, just did at the time. The only thing that worries me about that is Photobucket now owns Tinypic, or it maybe the other way round - whatever, I hope Tinypic do not start holding people to ransom to the tune of $399.00

So, the internet is up in arms over this sudden terms of biz. change and there are a lot of unhappy people out there.
Especially those that rely on them for their Ebay and Amazon photos - poor sods. At least that doesn't effect me and I hope others on this forum.

Anyway, don't bother to try and contact them to complain as I did just now because it has been disabled and even if you did get through it would be a futile exercise as can be seen from this web page :- (there's much about this matter if you Google it but this one explains it well)

If something is free, then you're not the customer. You're the product.

Wha? :S

Wha? :S

If a company offers something free of charge, they're not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts; they intend to make money off of you. If you don't pay them anything, they'll sell your data, or your browsing history, or your personal information, etc.

If they offer it for free, you aren't their customer -- you're the product that they're selling.

Ta, and I see; so now they want it both ways. Angry
