VHS Tapes

Not sure if I've asked before, but I'm on the lookout for old VHS tapes that you would have recorded TV shows onto in the days before Sky+ and the like.

I'm asking because I run features on my blog now where I dig through old tapes and look for rare bits of footage - you can see my latest findings at http://www.curiousbritishtelly.co.uk/2017/03/archive-tape-digging-march-2017.html

Anyway, if you have collections of old VHS tapes that you recorded onto - the older the better, anything after the mid 90s isn't of much interest - and are taking up room then I would be happy to take them off your hands! Please note that I'm not looking for pre-recorded tapes, only ones like the tapes featured in the article I linked to.

I have lots of VHS tapes recorded off air probably late 80's early 90's.

I'll see if I can find them. Good luck on perusing them though, many are in LP mode with 6 hours on each tape.

Interesting blog and will see if I have anything as I have loads of blank VHS tapes I copied the TV on. I have a lot of tapes of Snooker from the early 90s but most of it is boring stuff. I would leave it to record and could get lucky if something good started when the late night Snooker highlights finished but too often the tape would finish before the programme so I would miss the ending. AARRGGH!

I don't remember Go For It but I never missed Master Team in the late 80s. It was on at 6pm and I remember that because it was always on after Grange Hill/Blue Peter which started at 5:35. When Neighbours took over the slot I don't think it was made again. No more tea time Angela Rippon

Transferred mine to DVD (some 300) years ago. Didn't do everything mind, as some were comedy series that then became available and it saved a lot of work.
