I don't lose much sleep over this yet but are we getting to the stage where let's say we have a Muslim, Christian or gay comedian making a self-deprecating joke and risking prison for seven years? Legal clarification anyone? How long before it becomes illegal to hate all this legislation?

It's all just nothing now. I doubt any comedian could get anywhere close to prosecution with how the bill has been watered down. I think it just a token bill to try and suggest that they're conscious of 'the problem'!
That makes me sound annoyed, like I want more people prosecuted!
all it does is plug a loophole in an older law, as long as your material isn't inciting racial hatred, you've got nothing to worry about.
Basically it gives Christians and Muslims the same protection that Jews and Seeks have under the Race Discrimination Act. How much protection is that? Well considering its not illegal to do things like deny the holocaust then not alot. Despite what a lot of people think you can basically say anything which does not incite others to break the law. So annoying a religious group would not break the law. Stirring up anti-religious sentiments would.
