RIP Peter Vaughan

93 - very good age of course and died in bed yesterday morning with his family around him, just the way I want to go.

Will always remember him especially for Grouty in Porridge, which is remarkable as he was only in 3 episodes - just shows how strong that character was. So menacing!!

One of those stalwarts of the British sitcom as say someone like George Cooper.

Yes, RIP Mr Vaughan you brought me much pleasure in my TV viewing.

Yes I was surprised he was only in 3 episodes.

He was also of course Wolfie's girlfriend's Dad in Citizen Smith.

RIP.

He said himself that Grouty was remembered because although he only appeared in a few he was mentioned in lots of others.

Good point.................his reputation pervaded every part of that prison.
