John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme Transcripts

Anyone who has any interest at all in writing sketches should read them. Mr Finnemore's sketches tend to be funny, intelligent (yet never condescending) and elegant. Of course there are misses (the very first sketch of the first episode for example) but the hits more than make up for them.

Let's read these sketches and feel terrible about ourselves. Damn you, Finnemore!

Well they're well written, but you're better off going to the Writers Room if you're looking for how to style a transcript.

Years ago, JF (as we call him in the hood) was kind enough to send me one of his sketches. It was clear to read but it wasn't in super-precise-BBC-Writersroom style - Some places you send scripts to will really care about how you format things, others won't.
