Russ Abbot is back?

I was mightily surprised to see that Russ Abbot has a new sketch show coming up soon.

Is this taking nostalgia to a new level?

Oh good.

I loved Russ Abbot's Saturday Madhouse when I was a kid so I'm really looking forward to this even if it is just for nostalgia's sake.

Wonder if he'll rope in Bella Emberg?

Same here, because it was a laugh out loud show that the whole family watched. Basildon Bond could make me laugh without saying anything.

I hope Bella is up for playing Blunderwoman again. I always found her in the costume rather sexy.

With the exception of Basildon Bond I can't actually remember any of the sketches or anything else about the show other than loving it.
Wasn't Sherrie Hewson and Michael Barrymore in it as well or am I thinking of a different show?

No one remembers Jim'll Jinx It? Angelic

Laughing out loud

I loved it too. It was Family orientated but probably Non P.C.

Much like the thing it lampooned knowing what we do now.

Barrymore was definitely in it!

I always liked the old show.

:) On what side BBC or ITV? Be pretty rich of the Beeb to bring it back after axing it for being too old fashioned and unPC.

Maybe they've realised their calamitous blunder after seeing ITV make millions out of a Russ Abbot copy act more or less, Harry Hill.

It's being trialled for the BBC.

Wasn't it originally on ITV?

BBC had Russ first then let him go to ITV.

That'd have a certain potency now.
The Mel Smith character in Filthy Rich and Catflap was based on Jimmy. Ouch.
