hello, is anyone able to point me in the direction of a good example of how best to write a montage scene.

Just write them as little scenes

FADE TO:
INT. LOCATION - TIME (MONTAGE)
FADE TO:
Ect..
I wrote a montage for a pilot a while back... it was ment to be a bit of a piss take on montages... anyways, it requires a lot of CUT TO: and some intence music ect ect ect... just make it clear its a montage really.
I always just put CUT TO:
MONTAGE
Or something similar, then lots of CUT TO:'s as you go from bit to bit.
(SINGS) 'Montage . . .everybody loves a montage . . .'

I always liked the sports montage piss take in South Park in "Asspen" the whole episode was a send up of 80's sport movies.
