Flowers - Series 1

I cannot find an existing thread for this show, so here goes. What am interesting concept, but a completely unfathomable show. Thoughts are most welcome.

Loving it and absolutely no idea why...

Ah, I'm glad someone started a thread. I fecking LOVED it.

Julian Barratt was of course amazing. But Shun (Will Sharpe) was just brilliant.

Such an odd, haunting, addictive programme.

Amazing. Brilliant. One of the darkest comedies I've ever seen.

Barrett and Coleman were on top form.

I suffer with depression. That tape recording on episode 6 was so on point and relatable. I've often felt of leaving a similar message.

The stand out performance for me, however, was Sophia Di Martino whom played Amy.

The soundtrack is really good too.

Sick of the bloody sight of Coleman

Give someone else a go ffs

Well, she was perfect in this role. Amy was great too. Everyone was!

God that surgeon was effing creepy though. Shudder.

I hadn't realised that Will Sharpe, the writer-director, was also in the cast.

So far I've only watched the first three eps (Mon-Tues), and it's the Shun character that's kept me watching so far. Without him - and Will Sharpe's performance - I might have stopped watching. Not that I don't like the other characters. It's more that I need him there to lighten things a bit.

He's amaaazing.

He made me cry at least twice.

Thanks for the warning. :)

So far it reminds me of The Royal Tenenbaums, which is my second favourite Wes Anderson film (tops is Moonrise Kingdom).

I wonder if it was an influence on Will Sharpe?

The mood of it really reminds me of another programme, but I can't think what.

A tiny bit of League of Gents, and an even tinier bit of certain darker scenes in the Mighty Boosh. But also something else I can't figure out.

Psychoville, maybe?

It reminds me (though much, much darker) of 'Arrested Development', in that all the characters are dysfunctional.

Psychoville, maybe?

Yes, maybe!
