I didn't get that, as the women doing all the activities (tennis, riding, ironing, ) do not have a sheep twixt their legs. If well-trussed, sheep will put up with a bit of discomfort without bolting.
I would have gone for the environmental angle. Tampons are bad news for the environment. Whereas sheep are a recyclable, edible and renewable resource. And wool washes easily too.
