BBC3 - Why?

Does anyone really know what the point is of BBC3 going Online only?

They still have to pay to produce or buy the programmes. Is it the broadcasting costs of buying the space for a TV station that they are saving on?

I just think that this is going to backfire. I don't think as many people who watched the station on TV can be arsed to watch it online.

£30m saved.

Not enough viewers I understand - I rarely watched it, which is not surprising as I get the impression that it was aimed at the 20/30/40 year old age bracket.

I would guess that most of their audience is people who watch YouTube, Netflix, iPlayer. Most TVs/set top boxes are also 1 click away from iPlayer and it won't be long before all television is delivered down a cable.

TBF I Dont Know why they shutdown BBC3 completely I mean how are we people going to watch the new series of cuckoo if people don't have bbciplayer etc.i think the company have'nt thought it through.
