Star Wars: The Force Awakens (with spoilers) Page 2

I wouldn't put you down as a Star Wars fan Aaron.

I like them, but I'm not an obsessive or a collector or anything.

Are you sure it's Star Wars you like?

Well it isn't Lord of the Rings.

Come too far, have you, Frodo Baggins.

Finally saw it today. I couldn't decide between this and Creed (due to home commitments going to the cinema is a rare luxury). I like Star Wars but I much prefer Rocky in general. In the end I thought Star Wars would be the more 'cinematic' of the two so that's what I went for. I'll catch Creed on TV or bluray later on.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. But I do think they need to move away from the blowing up the Death Star/Starkiller Base idea. That's the third time they've done that now.

I was apprehensive as I've never seen any other JJ Abrams film or TV show that I haven't absolutely hated. But not this time.

The best thing was the new selection of characters. I'm very happy to see Rae and Finn take the lead in the next two parts.

One minor gripe. Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian are in one scene. These are the guys who starred in The Raid 1 & 2. Two of the best martial artists working in film and they don't have a fight. What was the point of hiring them? Donnie Yen is in the next one. If they don't give him a Light Sabre fight there's something very wrong with the world.

Luke didn't say much did he?

At the end I was hoping Rae would say "Mr Skywalker, those battles you and the Rebel Alliance had with the Empire all those years ago, I've always wondered, is there some sort of collective term for them?"

Then Luke replies "Yes. They're known as....." Then he turns and looks directly into to camera with a wry smile and says loudly and clearly ".....THE STAR WARS!"

Cut to credits.
