Which sitcom series stopped a bit too early? Page 6

Pete Vs life , it only had 11 episodes. It has hardly dated since 2011.Warren from 2019 on BBC 1 , only 6 episodes and it's very funny.

It was supposed to be a satire on Comprehensive education, only it apparently scared parents to death, with many kids saying it was too much like their own school. I certainly recognise some of the elements they were OTTing.

Worth it just for Roger Sloman as pedo Kennedy.
What do you call a comedian who bonks in traffic jams? Roger Sloman.

Looking back I did quite enjoy that show. Worth another series at least.

There was a US show callled Better off Ted, it was really good
A guy working for a big corporation, and it was smart and slightly surreal and hilarious, i'd recommend that if you can find it

I second this. Exquisite.

None more than Heil Honey I'm Home, a full series made and ready to run but they pulled it after just one measly episode, one of the most gloriously funny and creative new sitcom eps I've ever viewed, and can still be enjoyed on Youtube even if the others can't, alas. The original programming order and continuity announcement was also legendary, but not sure that's on Youtube.

No idea why that was pulled. A sitcom about Hitler, what could possibly go wrong? I don't know.

Believe Nothing, sadly a bit of a failed Rik Mayall comeback; and Suburban Shootout on Channel 5. Both were very farcical to maybe keep the energy and stories up forever though. I still dig them out every year.

Thanks for the heads up. Yes, I have two. As a Young Ones fan, I need some Rik in my life and this one had always escaped me. Dug it out on BoobTube and enjoyed - more than The New Statesman, which never made me laugh that much.

Yes but the New Statesman did have Marsha Fitzalan. I do like some posh totty.

Did Monkhouse say the Young ones again?
They did a Fawlty Towers/ The office and timed it just right

Well a bunch of Jewish Americans made a funny film about him and no one pulled that. Did rather well infact. But 'oh no, can't have that sort of thing here.' đŸ˜

Lee Evans so what now, I like it more now than I did in early 2001.Quite a few norman wisdomesque scenes and blatant setups.

Perv. Should be Sporty.

The Young Ones AND The Spice Girls in one thread. Awesome.
I know The New Statesman was hard-hitting back in the day, but I never overdosed on the actual laughs. Believe Nothing might be softer, but I love the butler character.

The pilot was funny, but a bit of a one-trick pony.

Agreed, Lee Evans and Steven O'Donnell made a great double act. I loved the first episode where he ends up with the fish tank on his back.
