British Comedy Guide

Rest in peace to one of my favourite comedy persons. What a marvellous character Alf Garnett was.

Such a shame the Beeb are too afraid to release the entire series. I, like many fans are limited to just two DVDs plus the film. They're quite expensive now and considered collectibles given the price.

Saw him live in Bath in a play called 'Vising Mr Green'. It was a matinee performance and went to meet him after the show. Sadly, he was having a rest due to ongoing recovery with a stroke.

89 is a good age and he did wonders for British comedy.

"You bloody silly moo!"

Yes a very talented comedy actor who sadly typecast himself for TV because his Alf was so strong and colourful. Played some great little parts in good comedy films but should have had more.

Good age, 89. RIP.

RIP.

A great classical actor too. Played Barquetine in Gormenghast as well as Shylock.

Played Barquetine in Gormenghast

Oh yes, that was brilliant and close to the books.

A great actor indeed. Much missed on TV already!
