Have to say I am not a huge fan of Russell but looking forward to his next musical efforts under pseudonym.

I have regular rows with my teenage daughters, who 'hate' this 'cos it's/she's 'uncool'.
Whereas anyone with even a scintilla of musical nouse knows this is a work of genius, pop-wise.
The first time those cellos come in still gives me goose-bumps.
And the drop's not bad either.
Back on topic, our local village display was as fab as usual - I swear to God they rob a firework factory each year.

Understandable if you're not a fan of the style, but the performance, within it's genre, is undoubtedly pitch-perfect and powerful.
I think she gets a hard rap, personally, one of those 'love-to-hate' performers we seem to need.
Not much of a fan of her other stuff - particularly "California Girls" which is the squawking nightmare of which you speak, and probably where she picked up her bad reputation.
This song, though, I think is a keeper,

Her voice isn't quite as painful as Jessie J's but it does hurt my brain. Some of their songs are fine though. I don't know if they write them, but if so I wish they'd write them and then give them to other people.
