Its a brilliant sketch. I wouldnt worry about it being too akin to Pratchett, because as a stand alone sketch, it`s excellent.
DEATH OF INNOCENCE Page 2
Yes, it's a good one. You don't need the last bit of dialogue, it's over-egging the pudding. Have the reaper come out into the hallway, mum is there, and he reveals himself. That's it.
"Just says hamster" is a superb line that might have come out of Monty Python, as played by John Cleese.
I love it - nice one.
I really enjoyed it, well done. It's great when you don'e see the punch line coming at all.
I love the idea of death coming for a pet, the kids response and then the fact that it was actually the dad all along.
Very well structured and apart from a bit of trimmage here and there possibly?, excellent. Mitchell and Webb would be very proud of that one if they'd have come up with it.
I thought it was good as it was.
Still don't get the complaints department one though.
Ignore all this Pratchett talk, death is a regular comedy fixture and is by no means exclusive to disc world.
As for the sketch, as much as it beggars belief, I am in total agreement with Godot.
ShoePie's excellent animation of this sketch is not completed and is available to look at on both the JunkMales MySpace and YouTube pages as well as Shoepie's own.
It has also been entered into the Youtube halloween competition, so please vote for us if you feel inclined to do so.
Many many thanks again to ShoePie, and also to Ellikins for providing he voice for the intregal part of Mum.
Enjoy
I thought that it was brill. I laughed outloud and was only disappointed to find it was his dad. What about when it cuts to hallway we had kid and death, sucking lollypops, all friendly and kid seeing death off with wrong hamster as it's not his favourite ..... kind like... shall I shut up now?!!
See ya, then...
I loved it. Got to agree that the opening concept Death-coming-for-a-hamster was a great moment of comedy and would like to have seen that explored more. But yet another good one from DJB and the JMs.
Shoepie's trademark animation is superb - especially the opening door and the shifting light. Good work, Kerry.

I need someone to play my pussy...cat! for my cat & dog sketch.
