HAPPYish with Steve Coogan

The first series just finished airing on Showtime this week. What can I say, it's a solid contender for the worst thing Coogan ever appeared in.

I presume it's not airing in the UK (and I also had to use, err, different means of watching it), but you're really not missing much. It's a TV equivalent of a middle-aged man's frustrated scream. Ten pointless episodes of mid-life crisis that probably got a TV deal just because the Showtime execs are as miserable as the creators.

And I can't disagree with much of what this show says, but it has zero subtlety, zero laughs, and satirical points that are painfully obvious to anyone over the age of 30.

When (or if) it gets a DVD release, don't rush to buy it.
