Short Com Call For Submissions

Shameless plug.

Short Com is once again open for short comedy film submissions for its 2015/2016 touring schedule.

Short Com is a touring short comedy film programme that screens the funniest and most charming comedy short films by emerging independent comedy filmmaking talent.

Last year Short Com screened in Edinburgh, London, Bristol and finished its tour as part of the Glasgow Short Film Festival with the screening of its annual best of programme and awards ceremony, hosted by Still Game's Greg Hemphill. The comedy animation team Tea&Cheese took the Filmmakers' Select Award for their epic pilot of 'Isaac and Quincy', winning some quality software programming from sponsors Blackmagic Design, as did Ben Mallaby with 'Milk', starring and written by comedians Paul F Taylor and Toby Williams, taking the Jury Panel Award. The stop motion film 'Once Upon a Time In The Shed' by Barnaby Dixon won the hearts' of the audience, scooping the Audience Select Award as well as the Best Animation award, pocketing £300 in prize money. Joe Nicolosi won the Best International award for 'Hell No'.

We also managed to raise over £700 for the mental health charities CALM and SAMH. Something we still plan to continue.
