Handy article here about what the reader DOESN'T want to see in your screenplay - http://www.shorescripts.com/getting-past-the-reader/
How to get your script past the READER
Doesn't like confusing plots and where not much happens? Never heard of Waiting For Godot?
I won't be paying to enter your competition.
Waiting For Godot was originally written as a stage play, not a screenplay. Completely different.
And was turned into a terrible film.
Having said that, I have a personal theory that 'readers' are in fact one of the main reasons why the bulk of Hollywood's output is such an an absolute crock of shit.
But I won't go into that here.
Are you saying that Waiting For Godot has nothing to offer screenwriters, Shore Scripts?
Hollywood get the readers/films/stars they deserve in any case.
To be honest - I think that "Waiting for Godot" has almost zero to offer to screenwriters.
Plenty for playwrights, though....

No capital letters, full stops or anything.
Actually, all joking aside, if you are in any way serious about screenwriting this is by far and away the best blog to visit on a daily basis.
