The BBC have set up a BBC archive trial. On it there is a catologue of sitcoms and other programmes etc.

Is this just reference or can clips be watched on it?

The catalogue and archive are seperate entities. The catalogue is referenced, however, by the archive in identifying programmes. But they're not linked otherwise, and the catalogue has been around for the best part of 2 years - the archive only for a few months.
So no, it does not include clips.
In regards to the BBC Archive Trial, I've been a bit disappointed by the severe lack of sitcom content.
I was hoping they were going to try the guy who wiped all the tapes ... and hang her!
There have been no sitcoms on it have there. Someone said Citizen James was on it, but I never found it.

There have, but only three or four individual episodes. And yes, one episode of Citizen James is on, The Race, which I believe may have been S01E01.
Please could I have a link to the Citizen James episode, as I can't get on it, I would be most grateful
Can't get on what? The Archive Trial?
Yes, but can't get to any of the clips so please could someone send me a link to the Citizen James episode.
