Would this work?
The Character of Dave has just split up with his wife, the receptionist has just told him that Trevor from accounts got a week off when his marriage broke down.
SCENE 05 INT- TOILETS – MORNING
The door bursts open and enters Dave
DAVE:
(Triumphant )Yes!
[As he shouts yes he notices another co worker, he snaps back into being sombre, co worker does his fly up goes to wash his hands not taking his eye off him. Dave reaches into his pocket and pulls out his scratch card]
DAVE:
Scratch card, its only two quid, not going to let it change me though.
[Co-worker leaves in silence]
DAVE TO CAMERA:
One week off, just think of all the things I could do
Dave starts to day dream
CUT TO
INT-HOME OFFICE–AFTERNOON
Dave on the Internet in his pants
CUT TO:
INT-LIVING ROOM–AFTERNOON
Dave playing on a console in his pants
CUT TO:
INT- TOILETS – MORNING
DAVE TO CAMERA:
I could even go pick up Jamie from toddler group
EXT-OUTSIDE TODDLER GROUP BUILDING–AFTERNOON
We see Dave outside waiting to collect Jamie a group of attractive looking mums look on.
MUM 01:
Look at him poor man; I can’t believe she left him she must be mad
MUM 02:
I know, he’s a handsome man too
MUM 03:
But why’s he wearing no trousers?
We see a full-length shot of Dave standing in his pants
CUT TO:
I should think so, but i wouldn't number your scenes. I don't think there's any point to be honest.
A dream sequence would be considered a new scene, just right it as that. In the slug line you could put (Dream Sequence).
Use
CUT TO:
and then
BACK TO:
At either end of the dream.
Another question.
How do you write out a scene where the character does something ie confront someone then it goes back to the reality and they haven't confronted they've just took it.
Sorry about the dumb questions
DS
Well that's just a daydream isn't it or fantasy?
Just write it as a new scene, always a new scene, always a new scene, repeat after me, ALWAYS A NEW SCENE. lol
Just add a little note next to it (daydream) just to make it clear.
but does it matter that the joke is revealed?
Man A is asked to do some thing by Man B, Man A stands up to Man B, then reality kicks in to reveal that Man A just sat there and took it
Yes, cos the viewers won't see that. A script is like a blueprint, you can see the err things, lol. Workings ?
Just write
MIX TO :
FADE TO:
CUT TO:
THEN
MIX BACK:
FADE BACK:
CUT BACK:
And title the next scene something like
SCENE 1(CONTD.)
Thank you folks.
I've learnt things today cheers. x
I advise anyone to buy the Screenwriter's Bible. It answers practically every question you could think of. It's the best writing book I've ever bought.
I've ordered it.

I'm a screen writer atheist so I don't believe in the Screenwriters Bible, according to that they made the Office in 7 days

Yeah that's one idea but science has proved that comedy writing evolved over millenia. I find it very difficult to believe in one comedy script writing God.
