Nah the misery is just a front - he's a very funny guy. Some great lines in his book (though the plot at the moment is a little too Chuck Palahniuk shocktastic for my liking).

RE: Graham Greene - think I read somewhere they are doing another film version of Brighton Rock! (another Nick Cave link there)

Is Gods & Monsters still the one decent film he has done . . . ?

Yes...and he did juggle in "George of the Jungle"...

Oh yeah. I'm also struggling through a book of Kafka short stories (still waiting for one I can enjoy that isn't The Metamorphosis)...

Not a short story, but 'The Castle' is pretty good.
