I am reading Aberystwyth Mon Amour. Slowly.

:) Are you enjoying it? I really tried, but in the end I couldn't get into it.

Sort of am but not really hooked by the story as yet, three chapters in, so am only mildly amused. I read the Brass Verdict before this and finished it in a couple of days. I shall plug on because I have other books to read and don't like not finishing a book unless it is really bad. I have not bought the Lost Symbol.

:)

:) Me too, I've only ever given up on about 3 or 4 books that I found terrible and persevered with any others but you do feel like asking for your money back at the end!

Well I was given it, although it came from oxfam and cost £2.49!

Tried to read Sophie's World to the end. Failed. Again. Midwich Cuckoos is now occupying my bedside. Which was made into the film: Village of The Damned.

:D

I'm part way through Frank Skinner's On The Road. It's very knowing and self-aware and a good, extremely honest, read, but few less laugh-out-load moments that his first one.

"Sir Gawain and The Green Knight", by God knows who, translated by Simon Armitage.

I know that from Two Pints.

Such an educational show. Errr

"The Lonely Londoners" by Sam Selvon.

Totally agree, SWTWC was the first novel of his I read - before that it was the short stories in their various collections. What an amazing imagination to keep churning out such gold, and his prose style is almost poetry.

You big gay.

:D

But YOU knew that anyway ;)

Am I the only one who read it of my own accord, for pleasure? Teary

I was going to read Great Expectations, but after the comments above this quoted post, perhaps I'll avoid...

But you are not zooo, Aaron. Unimpressed

Well I read all four... and as a easy to read, lovey dovey book, they were great. Although, has nearly ended my relationship with my boyfriend because he is not a Vampire.

So there's the culprit!

We have not yet assimilated, no. But others also echoed the sentiments.

Suppose if you're not used to reading, you might find Dickens hard work. Do you read? I can't remember.
